CloseDr Zoe Schaedel is an NHS GP and menopause specialist with a special interest in both sleep medicine and women’s health.
Dr Schaedel lectures widely on the topic of sleep and has taught on the International Sleep Medicine Course. She sits on the British Sleep Society Education Committee and the British Menopause Society (BMS) Medical Advisory Committee.
Dr Schaedel is the co-founder of The Good Sleep Clinic, which specialises in non-pharmacological treatment of insomnia, and is the co-director of Myla Health, a private women’s health clinic. Dr Schaedel has published articles on the topics of menopause and sleep in the Lancet and Post Reproductive Health and has featured in publications including The Guardian, The Daily Express, Grazia, Stylist and Good Housekeeping.
John has worked in senior NHS clinical and management roles. He was Principle Clinical Pharmacist in the Department of Community Psychiatry at Clatterbridge Hospital and was the manager of a Department of Health National Pilot Project in community mental health which won a Pharmaceutical Care award. He is now a freelance consultant. He is a past chairman of the UK Psychiatric Pharmacy Group and a founding member of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy. He was a member of the WHO-Europe DepCare (Depression Care) Project and of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Mental Health Task Force.
He has written widely on mental health issues with over 80 peer-reviewed publications including book chapters and commentaries relating mostly to affective disorders and schizophrenia.
He has presented at many international symposia and created and delivered educational packages related to the treatment of severe mental illness which have been used in the UK and internationally.
Cameron Livingston is a General Practitioner and Partner at Dollar Health Centre General Practice in Forth Valley, Scotland, and is also a General Practitioner with special interest in sleep medicine within the Sleep Service in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Scotland, where he has worked since 2012.
Dr Livingston graduated from Edinburgh University in 2004. Following graduation, the early part of his training took place within the National Health Service (NHS) Greater Glasgow and Clyde and NHS Forth Valley boards. He completed his General Practitioner specialty training in 2008.
Dr Livingston has gained significant expertise in the assessment and management of a wide range of sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome, parasomnias, narcolepsy and insomnia.
Dr Tim Mercer is a GP Partner based in Wirral with a specialist interest in insomnia, migraine, and what he calls “the heartsink feeling.” He believes sleep is relevant to every condition and has developed practical methods for delivering cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) in general practice, alongside careful use of pharmacotherapy. Tim is known for his sincere, patient-centred approach and passion for general practice. Patients describe him as someone who "listens sincerely" and "goes above and beyond" (PSQ, 2025).
He loves his job, his patients, and helping others to love theirs too.
Dr Allie Hare (MA (Cantab) MB BS MEd FRCP) is a consultant physician and specialist in Sleep medicine. She is the President of the British Sleep Society and Hon Treasurer of the British Thoracic Society. She led the national review of outpatient sleep medicine pathways and in 2024, she was awarded a National Clinical Impact Award in recognition of the national importance of her work in sleep and respiratory medicine. She is currently the NHSE Clinical Lead for the Sleep outpatient transformation project.
Her expertise in sleep is regularly referenced across the national press, including British Vogue, Stylist, Esquire, The Guardian, The Independent, The Telegraph, the Sunday Times, the BBC and the Daily Mail. She has provided sleep advice to large corporates, Formula 1 teams and drivers and to professional athletes from premier league football teams to boxing.
